Aeneas New Myth | Events Poster

Aeneas New Myth was a unique theatrical show.

Performed between Florence and Cagliari, it recalls through a contemporary point of view the events of Aeneas as described in the Aeneid of Virgil.
The main frame focuses on Aeneas carrying his elderly father, Anchises, from the burning city of Troy.

The artistic concept was inspired by a large number of inputs: paintings, frescoes, sculptures, pottery of ancient Greece, and obviously, the Aeneid.

As a result of all the research, I chose to portray a close-up of Aenea's face, while the face expresses dignity and pride, the eyes are saddened by the unknown and the far vanishing point.

The drawing graphic style is intentionally "classic" and "sculptural", since it provides the same tragic atmosphere of the book, and captures that specific momentum of the whole event.

The Colouring technique and the chosen typography add a bold, cinematic surrounding, which melts within the majestic pose and yet preserves its readability.
